Mission

Yarn/Wire is a new music quartet dedicated to the promotion of creative, meaningful live musical experiences in the US and abroad. LIVING LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The members, board, and staff of Yarn/Wire acknowledge that our operations take place in Lenapehoking, the traditional and unceded territory of the Lenape. We pay respects to Lenape elders past, present, and future. We also acknowledge the many legacies of violence, forced displacement, migration, and colonialism. We recognize the Lenape who are living today, including the federally-recognized tribes of the Delaware Nation (Anadarka, OK), The Delaware Tribe of Indians (Bartlesville, OK), the Stockbridge-Munsee Community (Bowler, WI), as well as 3 Lenape First Nations recognized by Canada in Ontario: Munsee-Delaware Nation, Moravian of the Thames First Nation, and Delaware of Six Nations. This living acknowledgment demonstrates a commitment to beginning the process of working to dismantle ongoing legacies of settler colonialism, and to recognize the hundreds of Indigenous Nations who continue to resist, live, and uphold their indigenous sovereignty across their lands.
